Let’s talk about What is HPL and some general idea about the HPL Plywood,after this ,then will detail the Plywood production and quality standards from next few topics.

High pressure laminate is produced in a fusing process that gives an extra-hard decorative laminate. The surface, inner layers and backing layer are fused in a multiple step press operation, resulting in the most durable laminate construction.

Formica

These laminates are then bonded to the core board in a separate process with glue under heat and pressure.

HPL PLYWOOD ,it is kinds of fireproof plywood ,Plywood substrate laminated with HPL sheets on top and bottom face and back ,bonded with High Pressure Laminate (HPL) faces. The panels thickness will be 2mm thicker than the core because of the laminate and glue on each face.

Overlay colour
Standard colours are white and grey. Others colours at customer’s request.

Application

  • Furniture industry: kitchen and laboratory furniture components and worktops; furniture for shops;
  • Transport industry and construction: finishing works of walls and ceiling, surfaces where high resistance to wear and appearance are required.

Gluing classes 
Plywood is glued with waterproof phenol formaldehyde resin adhesive. Bonding is resistant to weather and boiling water. It meets requirements of the following standards:

EN 314 / 3rd class;
BS 1203 / H4 (previously WBP);
DIN 68705 Part 3 / type BFU 100.

E1 GLUE 

CARB P2 E0 GLUE 

Formaldehyde emission
In accordance with the standards EN 13986 formaldehyde emission meets the Class E1 requirements. Test method EN 717 Part 2.

Surface overlay
HPL is a high-pressure laminate. The core of HPL is thick phenol laminate with a decorative top layer impregnated with transparent melamine resin. HPL overlay is glued with D2, D3 or D4 class glues according to standard EN 204 requirements.

Cut to size panels, machining and processing up to ready furniture components in accordance with the customer’s requirements.

Standard thickness:
Plywood nominal thickness is 6.5, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30, 35 mm.
To  Ply thickness the following should be added:

  • 2 x 0,6 mm (HPL thickness), if HPL is applied on both sides;
  • 0,6 + 0,25 mm (balance paper thickness), if  HPL is applied only on one side.

Tolerance
Size and right angle tolerance meets the standard EN 315 requirements.

HPL PLYWOOD& Panels

They supply all forms of plywood with a high pressure laminate bonded to both sides or one only with a balancer to the reverse and also supply plywood with plastic coated steel faces in the same manner.

All these panels can be supplied in standard commercial panel sizes (e.g. 2440x1220mm, 3050x1220mm, 3050x1525mm, etc) and we can also cut & trim these panels to a particular required size to match your needs.
