Belarus will increase its timber supply to China
According to the Belarusian Consulate General in Shanghai, the Belarusian delegation visited China from 9 to 11 April to discuss the supply of Belarusian timber to the Chinese market. The delegation was led by Vladimir Crech, Deputy Minister of Forestry. During the visit, Vice Minister Craig introduced the Belarusian forestry industry at the Consulate-General and the main trading platform for wood and wood products in Shanghai, and held a promotion event for the Belarusian forestry industry at the ports of Taicang and Changzhou in Jiangsu Province. Participants discussed the issue of supplying Belarusian timber to China through container trains in the Silk Road Economic Belt. Following the talks, Belarus Bear Stearns Export Company and China BRAVE LEAF (Hong Kong) Limited signed an agreement of intent to supply 120,000 cubic meters of timber to China. In addition, an agreement was reached with Shanghai RICELAND Company to provide a trial production of Belarusian timber in 10 containers. Belarus Consul General Matsel and Consul General Iosko in Shanghai participated in the talks.
