Cambodia will ban all timber exports

Cambodia issued an order banning all timber, including processed timber exported to international markets through various border ports.

This is not the first time that Cambodia has issued such an order, but there are still illegal elements who go their own way and smuggle timber abroad by various means.

Cambodia said: “We must strengthen the management of natural resources, especially to prevent and eliminate the illegal export of timber abroad through various border ports.”

Cambodia urges relevant departments to continue to study and amend the Forestry Law and the Fisheries Law so as to manage forestry and fisheries resources more effectively.
