The main production technology of OSSB is basically the same as that of wood OSB, but in the process of particles preparation, on the one hand, it requires less equipment and less power than wood particles; on the other hand, because wheat straw particles are easier to dry and faster than wood particles, its production energy consumption is obviously lower than OSB. Under the same conditions, OSSB costs 21% less than OSB.

Straw is the waste of wheat harvested. It is cheaper and easier to obtain. The use of wheat straw instead of traditional wood and other plates protects forests and arable land. This not only helps to recycle resources, but also promotes the circulation and sustainable development of local economy.

Farmers increase their income by selling useless straw as raw materials; straw is burned out, which will inevitably emit a large amount of carbon dioxide. Now straw is used to make wheat straw board, which reduces carbon dioxide emissions and contributes to weakening the greenhouse effect of global warming.

4. Differences in flame retardancy

The flame retardancy of OSSB is better than that of OSB.

5. Price differences

Phenomenologically, the price of OSSB is generally higher than that of OSB under the same specifications. It is not too clear whether OSSB technology updates are more valuable, or straw acquisitions are more expensive, or whether raw materials and equipment in the OSSB production process are more expensive.
