Elastic modulus of particleboard and fiberboard

Elastic modulus is a measurement item of particleboard and fiberboard. Elastic modulus refers to the relationship between stress and strain in proportional limit. It is a performance index to characterize the rigidity of particleboard and fiberboard. The device for measuring the modulus of elasticity is basically the same as the static bending strength, but a centimeter is installed on the other side of the pressure surface to measure the deflection of particleboard and fiberboard. The calculation formula is as follows:

In the formula, the modulus of elasticity (MPa) of E-specimen;

L-distance between two supports (mm);

B-specimen width (mm);

H-specimen thickness (mm);

P/y-specimen load-deflection curve slope (N/mm).

The modulus of elasticity of particleboard and fiberboard is almost proportional to the static bending strength. Therefore, the factors affecting the static bending strength of particleboard and fiberboard will also affect the elastic modulus of particleboard and fiberboard.
