Exports of Vietnamese Wood and Wood Products in the First Quarter
In the first quarter of this year, Vietnam’s timber and wood products exports amounted to billions of dollars, and continue to become the largest commodity category of agricultural exports.
According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs, in the first quarter of this year, the United States became the second largest export market of wood and wood products in Vietnam after Japan.
According to the General Administration of Customs, the surge in demand for timber and wood products in major markets such as the United States and Japan and the improvement of Vietnam’s investment and business environment contributed to a surge in Vietnam’s exports of this commodity in the first quarter.
The department also predicts that in the first half of this year, Vietnam’s timber and wood products exports will increase year-on-year, with many Vietnamese timber enterprises holding full-year orders. In addition, when the FTAs enter into force, the contracting countries will reduce tariffs to each other, which will bring Vietnam’s competitive advantage in timber and wood products.
