Larch  accounts for 2/3 of Russia’s total exports

At present, the main export tree species in Russia are Larix gmelinii (2/3 of the total), followed by Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica and Picea spruce. Oak, birch, beech, birch, ash, poplar and other hardwood need to be pre-processed, and must comply with national standards to export. Global demand for sawn timber is increasing every year, so most Russian timber is exported in the form of boards and cubes.
