Long Grain Flexible Plywood Inspection
We inspected the flexible plywood ,also called bending plywood ,bendy plywood Hatters ply , Bender wood , Wiggle board, ,the production is short grain 5.5mm plywood ,looks great and light produced by paulownia wood species .
First ,when making the plywood inspection ,check the following checklist :
1.short grain ,long grain (4′ x 8′ Long grain or 8′ x 4′ Cross grain.)
2.wood species (Poplar ,paulownia mostly )
3.how many plies
4.the thickness tolerance
5.By bending and rolling the panel, the resulting cylinder will measure 8 in. (height) x 4 in. (circumference)
- Minimum radius: 12″ May be able to flex smaller, but will require significant force. All component parts should be manually “flexed” to achieve maximum flexibility.
- Sanding: Panels may require site sanding.
- Applications: Use for curved applications which will be covered with laminate, paper-backed veneers or other thick surfaces. Panels are not designed for structural or exterior use.
8×4′ cross grain barrel bend (1/4″ 3 ply product)
4×8′ long grain column bend (1/4″ 3 ply product)
Bendy Ply is a flexible and light-weight plywood. The flexibility is achieved by the open grained texture of the Poplar wood specie allowing the veneer layer on the outer curve to expand and the veneer layer on the inner curve to compress. With a 3 ply panel available, in either long or cross grain configuration, use Bendy Ply as your substrate to give shape and form to your projects.
