surface inspection

Surface cleanliness: There should be no obvious particles on the surface of density MDF  with good surface cleanliness. Particles are caused by impurities brought into the process of pressing, which not only affects the beauty, but also makes the paint film easy to peel off.

Surface smoothness: When touching the surface with hand, it should have a smooth feeling. If the feeling is more astringent, it means that the processing is not in place.

Surface smoothness: The surface of density MDF  should be bright and smooth. If the surface is uneven from the side, it indicates that there is a problem with the material or coating technology.

For rectangular MDF objects, following properties can be measured:

  • Width & Length
  • Squareness
  • Straightness
  • Thickness
  • Moisture Content

Overall elasticity: Harder MDF s must be inferior products

Due to ever increasing production speeds and new press technologies, the demands on inspections of the panel surface are also increasing. More and more is expected of people as “control instruments”.

Inspectors can be easily distracted from their task for brief moments. In this case, panels can reach downstream production processes and the customer without being inspected. This situation can lead to unsatisfied customers and product return claims.
