MDF QC Inspection Checklist : Part 4 Defects of Density MDF

Defects of Density MDF

  1. The biggest disadvantage of the density board is that it is not damp-proof and swells when it touch water. When using density boards as kick boards, door cover boards and window panels, attention should be paid to painting all six sides so as not to deform.
  2. Density board has larger swelling rate and deformation when it meets water, and its  load-bearing deformation is larger than that of homogeneous solid wood particulate board.
  3. The nail-holding force of density board is poor. Because the fibers of density board are very broken, the nail-holding force of density board is much worse than that of solid wood board and particleboard.
