Plywood QC Inspection Checklist : Part 16 Edge appearance and density profile

Plywood QC Inspection Checklist : Part 16 Edge appearance and density profile

Edge appearance is influenced by veneer type (veneer ,flakes, shavings, sawdust, fiber), panel density, and density gradient through the thickness. Density gradient can be controlled to a degree by manipulating press cycle variables.

Edge finishing of plywood is usually not a consideration in building film faced plywood ,construction structure plywood ,furniture and cabinet manufacture, differences in density
profile can affect Inter Bond strength levels and failure location .

When QC make the inspection ,this is one principle to test the appearance and density profile .
