Plywood QC Inspection Checklist : Part 5 Thickness tolerance and variations

The finished plywood have thickness tolerance and variations changes ,when buy the plywood ,check the thickness first ,1220 direction ,244omm direct , total check 2 points each edges ,total 8 points need to be tested ,record the numbers and see the thickness difference .

For example ,1220x2440x18mm ,the standard thickness tolerance is +/-0.5mm .

1220 A  17.5mm ,17.8mm ,

1220 B 18.1 mm ,18.3 mm

2440mm A  17.2mm , 17.3mm

2440mm B 18.6MM ,18.9mm

This is not acceptable .This kind of plywood should be not calibrated sanded ,so the 4 sides of the plywood thickness are not good .

Traditional thickness tolearance is +/-0.5mm for thick plywood ,+/-0.3mm for thin plywood .
