Its production process is roughly as follows:

Drying or hot pressing: In order to make the adhesive layer solidify faster, the board must be dried after pasting. The temperature should be controlled below the softening point. At this time, the drying time is long, such as making the modified rubber or adding urea-formaldehyde resin. At this time, the thermosetting adhesive is changed from thermoplasticity. Therefore, the drying temperature can be higher and the curing can be completed in 20 minutes. The modified emulsion can also be bonded by hot pressing. The hot pressing temperature ranges from 105 to 110 degrees Celsius, and the whole cycle can be completed in one minute.

Coating unsaturated polyester resin: After drying the board, the surface should also be coated with an unsaturated polyester resin coating, which can dissolve in styrene, in the presence of initiator and promoter, cross-linking into a good insoluble insoluble coating. The most common peroxides used as initiators are cyclohexanone peroxide and methyl ethyl ketone peroxide. Accelerator is generally cobalt naphthenate, the amount of peroxide is about 2% of resin, cobalt naphthenate is less than 1%. The reaction between them is intense, they can not be directly mixed, storage and transportation have to be separated. When ingredients are made, peroxide is often mixed fully with resin and then added with accelerant. When finishing, resin is poured onto the coated surface, immediately covered with polyester film, and rubber rollers are used. The paint is evenly spread out to remove bubbles. After drying at room temperature or infrared ray. When the drying is finished, the polyester film is coated. Then trim the edges, and get a bright, smooth polystyrene board.
