Relevant EU Standards for OSB
OSB Single Storey ConstructionThe main OSB standard is: EN 300: Oriented Strand Boards (OSB) – Definitions, classification and specifications. However, all OSB products used in European construction must comply with the overall standard for wood-based panels, EN 13986: 2004+A1 2015, now updated (key amendments).
OSB panel performance characteristics:
Guide to EN 13986 tables listing performance characteristics for load-bearing (structural) and non-structural applications for the dry, humid and exterior environments.
Performance characteristics for different applications – and the individual standards.
Use Classes and Service Classes:
Additional moisture content guidance and aligning Use and Service Classes.
The term ‘Hazard Class’ has been replaced by ‘Use Class’ in the updated EN 335:2013 and these are relevant to all types of panels, not OSB specifically.
Seven other relevant standards for using OSB in Europe:
EN 319: Particleboards and fibreboards – Determination of tensile strength perpendicular to the plane of the board
EN 717-1 , (EN 717-2) and now EN ISO 12460-5: Wood-based Panels – Determination of Formaldehyde Release
EN 789: Timber structures – Test methods – Determination of mechanical properties of wood-based panels
EN 1058: Wood-based panels – Determination of characteristic 5 percentile values and characteristic mean values
EN 12369-1: Wood-based Panels – Characteristic Value for Structural Design – OSB, particleboard and fibreboards
EN 12871: Wood-based panels – Performance specifications and requirements for load bearing boards for use in floors, walls and roofs
PD CEN/TR 12872: Wood-based panels – Guidance on the use of load-bearing boards in floors, walls and roofs如无特殊说明，文章均为本站原创，转载请注明出处。If there are no special instructions, the articles are original, if you want to use or reproduce, please indicate the original source www.plywoodinspection.com,If you find that our articles infringe on your copyrights and interests, please email us at email@example.com in time and we will delete it at the first time.
