1. Comparisons of Planer and Rotary Cutter
Rotary cutting can be divided into clipping and non-clipping, clipping and rotary cutting is mainly used to process larger diameter wood, while non-clipping and rotary cutting is used to process small diameter logs. Rotary cutting machines are generally large in volume and complex in structure. Log centering is required before boarding. Its structure is simple and flexible, and its movement forms are diverse.
2. Comparison of rotary and planed veneers
The thickness of rotary veneer is about 0.25-5.5mm. The thickness of rotary veneer of special purpose rotary cutting machine abroad can reach 12 mm. The thickness of planed veneer varies widely, ranging from 0.2 to lOmm. At present, the veneer thickness manufactured by rotary cutting machine is mostly below 3 mm above lmm. The veneer thickness uniformity in this range is good. It is convenient for sizing and other processes in the production of plywood, and is not easy to penetrate.
Sliced veneer has beautiful and lifelike texture, suitable for making patterning, plywood and veneer of furniture and building parts. Sliced veneer not only has tangential texture of rotary veneer, but also has radial texture and radius texture which is not available in rotary veneer, which is the most natural wood realistic and has the smallest shrinkage. Because longitudinal slicing is along the direction of wood fiber length, avoid. The transverse tensile strength of planned veneer is higher than that of rotary veneer, and there are almost no back cracks and surface cracks. The veneer is not only uniform in thickness, but also has good smoothness. It can be directly decorated without sanding, thus improving the strength and surface quality of veneer.
