U.S. Delays Antidumping and Countervailing Duty Investigations on Birch Plywood from Indonesia and Vietnam

Due to the recent U.S. government shutdown, the timeline for trade remedy investigations concerning birch plywood imports from Indonesia and Vietnam has been adjusted. All deadlines have been extended by 47 days, reflecting the duration of the shutdown.

Here are the updated key dates:

  • The Antidumping (AD) preliminary determination is now scheduled for February 3, 2026.
  • The Countervailing Duty (CVD) preliminary determination is now scheduled for December 6, 2025.

These investigations, conducted by the U.S. Department of Commerce, aim to determine whether birch plywood from these countries is being sold in the U.S. at unfairly low prices (dumping) and/or benefiting from illegal government subsidies.

Stakeholders in the forestry, construction, and import sectors should take note of these revised dates. We will continue to monitor the case and provide updates as they become available.
