Introduction: Panel furniture is the most important type of assembly structure. The so-called assembly structure of furniture, in essence, refers to the joint structure of its components. Cabinet furniture, whether it is a wardrobe, cabinet, bookcase, etc., is composed of top (face) plate, bottom plate (foot plate), side plate, partition, back plate, drawer, door plate and other parts, which are assembled in different ways.

  1. “32mm system” is a kind of structure and manufacturing system that uses 32mm as the module to build furniture through modular and standardized “interfaces”. It is determined according to the distance between drill bits. The distance between shafts engaged between drill gears is not less than 30mm. The integer is 32, which is a multiple of 2. It is flexible. Not all the dimensions of furniture are multiples of 32, but mainly the dimensions between the vacancies that need to be drilled. The vacancies are generally divided into structural holes and system holes. The holes of “system holes” are listed on both sides of the side plate to form two columns on the vertical coordinate. Each hole diameter is 5mm, the spacing between holes is 32mm, and the hole depth is 13. The structural holes are set on the horizontal coordinates. The distance between the first row of structural holes along the upper edge and the plate end and the hole diameter shall be determined according to the structural form of the plate and the specific conditions of the selected accessories. The hole diameter of general structure is 5, 8, 10, 15 and 25 mm.

(1) Wooden batten+screw or bolt joint can be turned repeatedly, which is economical and practical, but affects the appearance of the roof.

(2) Wooden batten+screw connection is economical and beautiful, but the number of assembly and disassembly cannot be too many. It is not suitable for glass doors or cabinets without doors to be connected in this way.

(4) Hollow screw+bolt joint, because hollow screw has double functions of positioning and connection, it does not need dowel positioning. It can be assembled and disassembled repeatedly, but it will affect the appearance of the side (top) plate.

(5) Cylindrical nut+bolt joint is especially suitable for the joint of chipboard and fiberboard furniture. It is convenient, reliable and widely used.

2、 The basic joint structure between the shelf and the side plate and the partition plate is the panel horizontally arranged in the cabinet to make the horizontal division of the cabinet for placing articles. Its thickness is 16-25mm, and there are two types: fixed type and movable type. The fixed shelf shall not be changed at will after installation. The movable shelf features that the installation height can be changed at any time as required.

3、 The partition board of the joint structure between the partition board and the top (surface), bottom or shelf can divide the space in the cabinet longitudinally. The clapboard can be a covered particle board, a covered blockboard, a covered hollow board or a solid wood panel structure. Diaphragm is generally installed with dowels, and two dowels are inserted into each end of the diaphragm respectively. Then drill matching round holes at the corresponding positions of the top, bottom and shelf, and then join them together during assembly.

4、 Back plate assembly structure The back plate connects the side plate, top plate, bottom plate, shelf and partition into a stable whole. The back plate can be installed in a cutting panel structure or a grooved panel structure. The rabbet panel structure is easy to disassemble and assemble, and is widely used. The rabbet panel structure cannot be disassembled and assembled, and is rarely used. Technical requirements for back panel:

(1) Three ply plywood or 3-5mm thick hard fiber can be used, or solid wood panel can be used. The back panel that is easy to collide and requires beautiful appearance can be covered with hollow board or covered with solid board.

2) The side of the back plate shall not be exposed and shall be concealed.

(3) The rabbet panel is applicable to thin back plate, and the rabbet depth of side plate is the sum of the thickness of back plate and layering. Plywood, fiberboard or solid wood batten with a width of 25-40mm shall be used for layering.

(4) The double panel method is applicable to thick back plates. The overlap of back plates should be reduced to about 10mm, and the cutting strength should be ensured.

(5) The back plate of the mortise and tenon mounting method shall be installed at the same time when the cabinet is assembled, but the expansion joint of the back plate in the groove shall be reserved to avoid deformation of the back plate when it expands and damage the assembly structure of the cabinet.

(6) The prefabricated wood frame back plate can form a flat back, which is suitable for the cabinet with large span. The middle brace of the wood frame can be used to strengthen the stiffness and flatness of the thin back plate.
