Common defects of melamine impregnated paper

Guide: The melamine impregnated paper we use is a very useful decorative material, but no matter how good it is, there are some shortcomings. This paper summarizes the common problems of melamine impregnated paper and some simple solutions.

1、 The phenomenon of backing plate sticking refers to that part or all of the plate is stuck to the backing plate during hot pressing.

The reasons are as follows: 1. The hot pressing time is short, or the temperature of the hot pressing plate is low or partially low, so that the resin curing is incomplete; 2. The moisture content of the base material is too high; 3. The amount of gum on impregnated paper is too large, and the content of volatile matter is too high; 4. The surface of the steel plate is not clean, the type of release agent is inappropriate or the coating is uneven; 5. Slab positioning is not accurate during hot pressing. Sticking often occurs around the plate, which is due to the low temperature of the edge, or the excessive deviation of the slab in the press. The real causes of sticking shall be found out item by item and solved in time to reduce losses. The adhesive board is mostly caused by incomplete curing of adhesive. Therefore, appropriate increase of temperature or extension of hot pressing time is an effective way to solve this problem. 2、 Plate warping 1. From the perspective of hot pressing, the plate warping is caused by the excessive temperature difference between the upper and lower platens, which causes the curing speed of the adhesive film paper on both sides of the substrate to be asynchronous during the process of pressing and pasting, and the plate bends to the side that is fast. The author believes that the appropriate temperature difference between the upper and lower platens should be 3~5 higher than that of the lower platen. 2. From the material itself, the two layers of impregnated paper used by village wood have different properties, which will also lead to the warping of the board. If the base material single side sticker is used, warping is an inevitable result. From the production point of view, the same impregnated paper can be used or the appropriate temperature difference between the upper and lower pressing plates can be adjusted to ensure that the plates will not warp. 3. The incorrect stacking method of finished products after hot pressing is another main reason for the warping of plates. The solution is to use even and straight skids or pallets to store the hot pressed melamine impregnated paper veneer.

When we really want to produce high-quality products, we must choose excellent impregnated paper and base materials, and reasonable processing technology. In addition, we also need the cooperation of operators and inspectors. If problems occur, we should feed back in time. Only in this way can we ensure the stability of product quality and occupy a larger market.
