5. Finish Types & Rules

Clear / Natural Wood Finish

  • Transparent coating fully reveals natural wood grain; no clouding or haze.
  • Uniform sheen level across all components (matte, satin, semi-gloss or full gloss as specified).
  • Satin is the most common premium grade standard; sheen deviation not permitted.

Stained Finish

  • Uniform stain penetration; no blotching, uneven color or over-staining.

Painted Finish

  • Opaque coverage with solid, uniform color; no wood grain show-through on premium grade.
  • No brush marks, drip lines or sagging on vertical surfaces.

  • All finishing materials comply with EPA VOC regulations for architectural woodwork.
  • Combined with TSCA Title VI formaldehyde compliance for full cabinet set.
