This inspection strictly implements the latest mandatory and industry standards for wood flooring and plywood base materials for European construction and decorative use, covering structural performance, environmental safety, bonding quality and surface durability:
- EN 13986:2004+A1:2015: European standard for wood-based panels for construction use, specifying mechanical properties, dimensional stability and basic safety requirements of plywood substrates
- EN 314-1/2: Testing standards for bonding quality and glue durability of plywood panels, ensuring structural stability under European indoor humidity conditions
- EN 717-1: Formaldehyde emission test standard for wood-based panels, complying with EU environmental protection entry requirements
- EN 13329: European standard for laminate and engineered wood flooring, regulating abrasion resistance, impact resistance and surface finish performance
- EN 204/205: Adhesive durability classification standard, reaching D4 grade waterproof and weather-resistant bonding requirements for European indoor environments
3. Product Structural Parameters & Appearance Inspection
3.1 Structural Configuration
The inspected engineered hardwood flooring adopts multi-layer plywood as the core substrate, with cross-laminated structure to ensure excellent dimensional stability. The top layer is high-quality natural hardwood veneer, with eco-friendly aluminum oxide wear-resistant coating on the surface, meeting European residential and commercial decoration application specifications.
3.2 Appearance Quality Inspection Result
Random sampling inspection is carried out in accordance with European flooring appearance acceptance standards. All sampled products show uniform surface color, consistent wood grain texture, no obvious color difference, crack, scratch, blister, stain and peeling defects. The board edges are neat and smooth without burrs, breakage or deformation. The splicing gap and flatness fully meet EU installation and acceptance standards.
Inspection Conclusion: Appearance quality Compliant
4. Core Performance Testing (EU Standard Compliance)
4.1 Plywood Substrate Performance (EN 13986)
The plywood substrate is tested for structural stability, moisture content and mechanical properties in strict accordance with EN 13986 European construction wood panel standards. The moisture content of the substrate is controlled within 8%–12%, which matches the humidity adaptability of European indoor environments, and the moisture content difference between batches is less than 2%, avoiding deformation and warping after installation. The bending strength and structural rigidity of the plywood meet the dry and humid indoor use grade requirements specified in the standard, with no delamination or loose core phenomenon.
Inspection Conclusion: Plywood substrate performance Compliant
4.2 Bonding Strength & Durability (EN 314-1/2 & EN 204/205)
The adhesive bonding performance between plywood layers and between veneer and substrate is tested per EN 314-1/2. The product reaches D4 grade bonding durability specified in EN 204/205, with excellent water resistance and aging resistance. After boiling and soaking tests, no delamination, glue failure or gap opening occurs. The bonding strength is stable, adapting to the variable humidity climate of European indoor spaces and long-term use requirements.
Inspection Conclusion: Bonding performance Compliant
4.3 Formaldehyde Emission Environmental Test (EN 717-1)
Formaldehyde emission is tested in strict accordance with EU EN 717-1 standard, complying with the latest European environmental protection entry regulations for wood products. The test result shows that the formaldehyde emission of the product is ≤0.124 mg/m³, fully meeting the EU E1 grade mandatory standard, and reaching the high-standard environmental protection requirement suitable for European residential, commercial and public building decoration. No harmful volatile substance exceeding the standard is detected.
Inspection Conclusion: Environmental safety performance Compliant
4.4 Surface Wear & Impact Resistance (EN 13329)
In accordance with EN 13329 European flooring durability standard, the product is tested for abrasion resistance, stain resistance and impact resistance. The surface aluminum oxide coating has uniform thickness and stable performance, with excellent scratch and wear resistance, meeting the service life requirements of European medium and high-frequency use scenarios. The surface finish is wear-resistant and not easy to fade, with good stain resistance to daily domestic and commercial stains.
Inspection Conclusion: Surface durability performance Compliant
4.5 Dimensional Stability & Installation Adaptability
The product has precise dimensional tolerance, with length, width and thickness errors all within the allowable range of European standards. The thermal expansion and cold contraction rate is low, and the dimensional change rate under temperature and humidity changes is far lower than the EU standard limit. It has good installation adaptability, matching European standard floor laying construction specifications, and effectively avoids arching, gap enlargement and other problems after long-term use.
Inspection Conclusion: Dimensional stability Compliant
5. Defect Inspection & Batch Evaluation
Through random sampling and full-batch spot check of the pre-shipment products, no unqualified items, potential safety hazards or standard non-compliance problems are found. All technical indicators, appearance quality, environmental performance and durability of the batch of Vietnamese-made plywood-based engineered hardwood flooring fully meet the mandatory standards and market access requirements of the European Union.
No defective products, unqualified products or non-compliant batches are recorded in this inspection.
6. Final Inspection Conclusion
After systematic inspection and testing in accordance with all applicable European Union standards for engineered hardwood flooring and plywood substrates, the Vietnam-origin plywood-based engineered hardwood flooring of this batch is fully compliant with EU EN 13986, EN 314-1/2, EN 717-1, EN 13329 and EN 204/205 standard specifications. All performance indicators meet European market access, construction use and environmental protection requirements. The product is qualified for export to the European market.
