BEAD BOARD – WAINSCOATING
Bead board is usually made from ¼” to 3/8” thick plywood or MDF. It is grooved with a bead or “V” groove at repeating distances such as 2” or 4” on center, etc.

Wainscoting is a decorative panel, available in different materials, thicknesses and patterns.

We carry Wainscoting in 4’ x 8’ sheets of ¼” MDF for interior use and 3/8” ACX Pine for exterior use.

The patterns are usually a bead running the length of the panel which grooves are spaced either 2” or 4” on center. In use, the panels are butted against each other to form continuous paneling and the edges are capped off with a chair-mold or panel-mold.

Wainscoting is most often painted but stain grade wainscoting is available in different species of wood. We can custom order any species, thickness and pattern required.

BEAD BOARD APPLICATIONS AND USES
Bead board is most commonly used as an exterior or interior wainscoting, for decorative purposes. If edges are visible they are then capped with a chair-rail or panel- cap molding.

The completed project can either be painted, stained merely clear coated therefore it is important to have your finished product in mind when buying either paint grade or stain grade bead-board/wainscoting.

Aside from what we carry in inventory any species of hardwood plywood are available by special order.
