On April 4, 2024, Malaysian and Vietnamese Kitchen cabinets and bathroom cabinets exported to the United States must be certified without Chinese accessories

According to KCMA, the US Department of Commerce proposed a plan to establish a certification process on April 4th. The US Department of Commerce stated that this will interrupt assembly or finished product transshipment activities in Malaysia and Vietnam.

As part of the proposed procedure, importers and exporters will be required to demonstrate that each batch of cabinets exported through Malaysia and Vietnam does not contain finished products and/or unfinished components from China, including doors, drawers, and frames.

This department provides an opportunity for relevant parties to provide feedback on the proposed certification process on April 19, 2024, and submit a rebuttal on April 26, 2024. The US Department of Commerce plans to issue a final scope ruling on June 14, 2024.
